Small and Large online business owners are in search of a great SEO company that knows the new rules for keyword density. Many of the companies that handle day-to-day online business accounts are unaware of the changes made by Google. In the past, the best way to get an article to soar to the top of the search engines was by adding more and more keywords. Some companies would write blogs and articles using five or more keywords to 150 words. These same companies were blasting the internet with tons of short articles or blogs trying to steer the search engines towards their websites.
After a while, Google and the other search engines began to notice a pattern. The internet was flooding with these short blogs and articles that made no sense. These articles and blogs only made the keywords for the website visible by flooding the internet with this useless information. After a while, searchers online began to become frustrated at the lack of real information online. This is around the time that Google and other search engines began to take notice of the lack of information in these short articles.
Now, with the demand for better articles and compact information, some companies continue to use the short articles and blogs to get their website noticed. They are using information that is valuable to the website. This information will contain the keywords once or twice in a 200-word article. This is more acceptable to the internet users and the search engines because the information is not flooded with keywords. The information in the short articles is held to a higher standard of writing.
When companies search for writers, they demand the best writers that have knowledge of the subjects. This helps to cut down on the need for excessive key word usage. This also provides the readers with valuable information when they read the blogs or articles. Companies have come to expect more from the writers and more from their blogs. Each article is averaging one or two percent keywords in the articles. A 500-word article now contains a maximum of four keywords. This is considered too much by some individuals. It is not over flooding for the search engines.
When we ask how much is too much key word density we need to take a look at the article length, type of article, and how the keywords are arranged in the article. Some people believe that the keywords should appear once in the first sentence and once in the last.If you want to be sure the keyword density of you article, you can check them here, http://www.duplichecker.com/
Others will add 2-3 keywords in the center of the article. With all this said, the question is how much is too much in terms of keywords. There are too many keywords in an article when the article does not flow smoothly. When reading the article the keywords should not stick out like a “sore thumb.” Key words are meant to enhance the article not distract individuals when reading the article.
Keywords should never overpower an article. One keyword to every 150 words is more than adequate when trying to get the keywords to trigger the article and raise it in ranking. It is more important on how the keywords are placed on the page than it is the number of keywords. Some search engines say it is OK to flood the article but others consider less is more theory when looking at keywords and their density on a page.
Here is a video by Matt Cutts explaining the ideal keyword density.
Ideal Keyword Density by Matt Cutts
If we try to understand how keywords help, an article we will need to first understand now they work. Each search engine has things they call, “spiders” that will actually crawl up and down a page searching for words that are searched by readers. These spiders will find the most important words and this is how people are allowed to locate a page. Keywords are very important to an article but the placement is just as important. To be “up in the ranking” your articles should contain good content that is pertinent to your website. Keep your keywords tight and choose keywords that are searchable by people online. This will allow your web site to show up when people are searching online. Good articles require less keywords to get the information online.

Keywords are important to optimize a post and give it a competitive edge but I agree that the placement and arranging of keywords in an article is just as important. An article with too much keyword is sometimes annoying.

Matt couldn’t have explained it better in the video. The best way to check the keyword density is to read it out loud. If it flows naturally, then you got just the right enough keywords. Never compromise the quality of your posts just so that you can get the supposed magic keyword density number others have recommended.

Now this was a great post Herbert!
Whenever I read about keyword density and they share the percentages with you, I’m still not sure how many words that is and how many keywords you can use. This post was perfect… One keyword for every 150 words. Thank you so much!
I agree with what Matt said as well, just let the words flow. I do that the best I can but sometimes the keyword has to be used when you’re explaining a system and there is no other name for it. That usually hurts me though because it’s overkill and I know it.
This was really helpful, thanks again.
